The Berlin Wall in the Artwork

It is not uncommon for the Berlin Wall itself to be the subject of a work of art – in many very different forms. Explore six paintings in which the artists make biographical references to the Berlin Wall, document different phases of its construction or present a chronical of the deadly border. You’ll also discover examples of “action art”, in which artists threw buckets of paint over the Wall or left hundreds of handprints on it.
