Fall of the Wall in 1989

This tour takes you to eight works of art at the East Side Gallery that address different emotions and thoughts connected to the fall of the Wall on 9 November 1989. For many, the fall of the Wall was a joyous event that instilled them with hope for freedom, peace, and unification. Many of these emotions are reflected in the different works of art at the East Side Gallery. But not everyone saw the fall of the Wall as a happy occasion. Some artists used their paintings to express thoughtful and critical reactions to the fall of the Wall.
