German artist Ulrike Zott painted an untitled work in the East Side Gallery. She also collaborated on the adjacent painting “Willkommen” (“Welcome”) by the artist Oliver Meline. No more is known about her.

Ulrike Zott’s expressive Wall painting shows blank-faced male figures in suits, standing in a kind of box, against a stormy background. The lid of the container, which is topped by a man with his eyes closed, seems to have just fallen open. Rats and human figures are jumping or falling out of the container. The picture was perhaps a response to the sudden fall of the Wall and abrupt change of the political system in East Germany.
