The artist Lis Blunier was born in Berne (Switzerland). From 1990 to 2019 she worked as a freelance artist in Berlin. Her Wall painting Hier und Dort (Here and there) with rectangles and footprints is painted in the tradition of minimal art. Blunier lives in Switzerland.
The Wall painting Hier und Dort (Here and There) shows nine rectangles on a yellow background, some with a few footprints on them and others with very many. In both the 1990 painting and the 2009 version, the footprints were made by passers-by and friends and acquaintances of the artist. Lis Blunier has said they are a symbol that individual freedom cannot be confined by walls.
Lis Blunier graduated in sculpture from the Alanus Hochschule für Kunst und Gesellschaft in Alfter near Bonn in 1989. After the fall of the Wall, she moved to Berlin-Pankow, where she ran art projects with children and young people and taught at the youth art school. Today she works in multi-media art. Her art has been shown in numerous exhibitions.
